The week that was

We're getting ready to go to Norcross to pick up Landon's baby furniture. It finally came in last week, but we were at the beach last weekend so today is our first change to go pick it up! They could have had it delivered but it was going to be really expensive to bring it all the way to Macon, so we decided to rent a small truck from Budget. That turned out to be more expensive that we thought it would be, too, but much cheaper than having it delivered. We could have rented a truck or gotten a friend to help us out, but we were afraid with an un-covered truck that it would rain since there is a chance of isolated / scattered thunderstorms all weekend. Just didn't want to take that chance. Yea, we might could have used a tarp, but still, a covered truck was more certain to not get the furniture wet.

This work week was short so that was good. Next week is going to feel like 2 weeks, though. Tuesday and Wednesday I continued working in Landon's room. Remember last week me saying we'd be done my last Wednesday? Yea, I was a little off... We are getting very close to being done, though. There is a little bit more work and then some final painting touches to be done and it's going to look great.

Thursday was my birthday! I'm now 24. I'm getting old. I remember when I was in high school and how 24 seemed to be so old yet it was cool and I couldn't wait to be there... and now I am, but it doesn't feel so exciting, just another year older. We didn't do much for my birthday. Christi did tell me I could get a new TV for my birthday (woohoo!) so I'm pumped about that. When I get finished with Landon's room I'm going to go find one (maybe I can squeeze a PS3 in there as well.) We went out for a quick dinner but I wanted to be back in time to watch the GT-Clemson game! I think we are going to have a get-together or something similar tomorrow for my birthday.

The game was good, nerve-racking, sloppy, ugly, and exciting. We showed how great and how bad we can be all in one game. We're very explosive when we make the right reads, but I thought Nesbitt missed a lot of reads in the 3rd Q and it showed in our lack of production. I also though play-calling was a little more vanilla that I expected and I wasn't a fan of the constant deep passing routes. However, I can't complain because that route got us into field-goal range when we needed it. Demaryius Thomas is a beast at wide-receiver, and I think Nesbitt forced it too him many times. The underneath route was WIDE open several times and he finally connected with Anthony Allen (stud!) on it for a crucial 3rd down conversion. We got some work to do and our D played lights-out in the 1st half but got tired due to our lack of production on O. Clemson is a good team, potentially a top 25 team. They have a lot of talent and will surprise some teams. I'm glad CJ Spiller is finally leaving.

Overall, a win is a win and I'm happy that we are 2-0. The crowd looked great on TV. I did have a ticket to go but I decided to stay home because of everything I had to do and most importantly I didn't want to be away from Christi and Landon on my birthday. It was a great birthday!

I have to run. I need to finish a few things before we leave (which is soon!) Have a great weekend.
