Tired

Yesterday was a LONG day. We had our yard sale from 7am-12pm. To prepare for it, we woke up before 6 so we could setup all the items and get everything ready. That wouldn't be too bad except that we didn't go to bed until 1:30 that night. Why you ask? Because we (okay, Christi) was putting the finishing touches on the awesome firetruck cake that she made. I did help with design details, though. Unfortunately, we didn't find the battery charger so we could not take a picture! Thankfully the lady who ordered the cake, who also happens to live in our neighborhood, promised to take a lot of pictures. Hopefully she does and sends some to us.

The yard sale went well. It started off a little slow, but it really picked up as the day went on. We also had some deer crash the yard sale. Seriously. There were 2 deer that came running through the yard. It was pretty cool. Then we saw why they were running - 2 dogs came out of the woods chasing after them. The deer were long gone by that time, though, and the dogs left disappointed. I was happy with how much we sold. Somethings I thought that would sell for sure (computer desk, entertainment center) didn't while some other things that I thought noone would buy (Christi's unused lotion from 87 years ago, old CD players) did. That's how it goes I guess. The unsold items we took to the Macon Rescue Mission. While Christi's dad and I took the first load of items to the Rescue Mission, the lady who order the cake came and picked it up. She seemed to really like it. Hopefully Christi will get some referrals from this party. That has been our best advertising so far - word of mouth from other parties (and weddings!)

After we took some things to the rescue mission, we went out to eat at Jocks and Jills to watch the 2nd half of the GT-Duke game. I think we brought some good luck because we scored 24 points in the 2nd half. It was a good game but we seemed to have some rust on offense after the bye week. Our D looked dominate, though. I'm glad we have Gardner-Webb next week so we can get back to clicking on offense before we play Clemson next week.

When we got done with lunch, we came back home. Christi's dad and I took the tables we borrowed back to the church and took a small 2nd load to the Rescue Mission. Christi fell asleep as soon as we got back from lunch. Apparently, I was tired too because I when we got back I fell asleep on the couch watching football. That was around 4:30. We woke back up around 7. Then we lounged around the rest of the night, watched a movie, some TV - just tried to recover.

We woke up this morning with intentions to go back to church with Jessica and Jody, but overslept... way overslept. Guess we didn't quite recover yesterday. I'm not sure what drained us so much - not enough sleep or the energy exerted during the yard sale and subsequent clean-up. Either way, we're bumming around today, too. We'll probably be going out to eat lunch in a little while. We desperately need to get some groceries, too. I'm not sure if that will happen, though.

I also wanted to say thanks to Christi's mom and dad for being at our house @ 6am to help us get everything together. They also stayed the whole time and were a big help when things got really crowded.

Have a good rest of the weekend everyone. Stay tuned for more updates.

Sounds like you guys had a fun weekend! I don't know how you accumulated enough stuff for a yard sale!! Glad it was a success, though! Can't believe GT is 4-1!

Christi and I are both pack rats. We keep most things "just in case." Also, a lot of things we sold we bought for our college apartments. Now that we have a home we could use our wedding gifts that we couldn't use up there (no space!) I wish we could have taken a picture. It was a lot of stuff.

That's right! 4-1!!!! Go Jackets!
