Snow Day

We're currently enjoying a day at home thanks to the "snow". Really, it's more ice than snow, but we'll call it snow because it sort of looks like snow. The driveway and cul-de-sac are all slush. Our neighbors have an Expedition, a large F-250, and a convertible Mustang (they're Ford people, obviously). What did the guy drive to work on the iciest day of the year? The Mustang, naturally. I could hear someone else spinning their tires this morning. Thankfully both Christi and my workplaces closed for the day. People down here can't drive in icy conditions. It's not even worth trying.

We're hoping to get out in the snow, but I'm unsure if we will take Landon out there. Because it's so icy, I know it will be really wet and cold once we get out in the snow. We definitely don't want him to catch a cold, so we likely just stay inside and watch movies all day.

Speaking of movies, we got ourselves a Netflix subscription. We love it. I can stream it on the PS3 or Wii and we also get the DVDs by mail. We have already watched a bunch of movies. The problem we are having now is that we are running out of movies we can think to watch. We're about to start getting some we haven't seen in a while. If you have any favorite movies you think we should check out, let us know in the comments.

the mustang is probably the best and safest bet. i say that after driving up here. i have an explorer and it doesn't have 4wd- it's way more dangerous than a smaller car.

we are thinking of doing netflix thru our wii, esp since it looks like directv is jacking our rates up by over $20... it looks like movies for us

I guess that's my inexperience in the snow / ice. I figured a heavy, 4WD truck would be best instead of a light, powerful rear-wheel drive car that I think would be easy to spin out on the roads. I can see the Expedition being a bad bet since it's so top heavy, but I would think the truck is the best.

We haven't streamed any TV shows yet. I think we are going to, probably some shows that we started watching but for whatever reason lost touch with.

I just added Despicable Me to our queue. Thanks for the suggestion!

well, they probably don't have 4wd is what i'm saying. the car i have was my parents car and they opted OUT of 4wd b\c they live in the south. however, if those people are driving large cars w\ 4wd and they still chose to take the mustang... then yes, they are idiots!!
