Yay for the weekend

Everything is going well with the wisdom teeth recovery. I'm so glad it's the weekend because this week at work was pretty busy. When I have more time I will post a few funny stories from when I was doped up on Demerol. Let's just say it's good I wasn't making any posts this weekend. It was tough the first few days back at work, but after about Wednesday it got better. The toughest part has been eating and the soreness after eating. From talking with other people who had their wisdom teeth out, no one really mentioned this. Everyone said it would take 3-4 days to recover, so I expected to be back to normal eating after 3-4 days. WRONG. I've been on soft food since the surgery, gradually progressing to tougher to chew but still generally soft foods. Also, if foods are hot (heat-wise), it makes them very tough to eat. I'm getting the hang of it, but definitely getting tired of yogurt and jell-o, although not tired of ice cream yet.

I hadn't worked out since the surgery and played some soccer yesterday. Wow. That week off killed my endurance. I was very disappointed and a little surprised, really. I know you lose it much faster than you gain it, but I wasn't expecting this much. Have to get back into the gym ASAP. Unfortunately i will be in an off-site training class all week so I will have to go to the gym very early or much later than I am used to. One of the great perks of working at Robins is that we get 3 hours of fitness leave each week - i.e., paid time off to go workout and the gym is free (and one of them is right next to my building, which is great). So normally I get to work around 7:45-8am-ish after helping Christi get Landon ready and telling them good-bye. I'll workout, shower, and be in work by 9 be good for the rest of the day. I am thinking of going on a run this afternoon to help, depending on how much yard work I get done. Speaking of which, I need to get off the computer and into the yard to cut grass, weed eat, gutter clean, etc. First time this year. It went from nothing to overgrown this week. All that rain and cold had kept it from doing much of anything until this week.

Have a great weekend.

my brother & i had our wisdom teeth out the same day right before my sophomore year in college... we stopped at the drug store on the way home, and my mom told us to stay in the car while she picked up our prescriptions. i decided in my drug-induced haze to get out of the car, wander across the parking lot and into the store to find my mom. there i carried on a conversation w\ the pharm tech, who was starting college w\ me in the fall- so embarrassing!!

Yea so much stuff happened while I was doped up and I don't really remember it. Pretty scary since I was apparently very coherent during the whole thing.
