Mother Nature > Us

We had a bad storm come through today. It didn't last very long, but the power was knocked out at our house as well as strong winds and heavy rainfall. Everything was ok at our house, but unfortunately someone down the street wasn't as fortunate.

As you can see, the tree destroyed the car. I stopped and looked at it for several minutes on my way in from work. I'm guessing the tree was beginning to rot on the inside and the strong winds blew it straight over. The entire trunk came up but the roots appeared to break off instead of bringing up a massive root-ball like they did when the tornado came through last year.

I assume noone was in the car since there appears to be no effort to remove the tree at the moment. I hope noone was around when it happened. I hope they had insurance because that car is destroyed.

OH. MY. GOD. I don't even know what to say.

And next time, you need to give us a heads up that it was NOT your house!! Ugh!

I agree with Mrs. Bentley--I was afraid that was your house/car...until I remembered you don't have a gold mustang. A little warning would be nice!

Sorry for the confusion. The last line before the pictures says "we were lucky but people down the street weren't quite so lucky."

I thought that said enough to let you all know that it wasn't our house. Next time I'll make it more clear.

The tree is gone, but the car is still there. Looks very strange. I'll have to take some pictures of that. It looks like toy car.
